I am an artist living and painting in Suffolk.
I have a small studio in the garden which I call my sanctuary.
My motivation to paint is born out of a necessity to express my feelings. The artwork is personal and inspired by fleeting glimpses of a scene which I then interpret into my own images. The method of applying paint is constantly evolving as I experiment with new ideas and ways of working.
I paint mainly in oils—on board, canvas or prepared paper.
I am often asked, “what do I paint?” My reply is that I paint ‘moments,’ leaving the viewer to decipher the image for themselves.
But most of all, I paint because I have to!
